Checked summer dress with oversized puff sleeves in Bellagio, Lago di Como

oday comes the first post from Italy! We started our round trip in Bellagio at Lake Como. We didn’t want to drive all the long way down to Tuscany at once, and because everyone always told me how beautiful the area around Lake Como is, we made a little stopover there. For me a lake will never be comparable to the sea, but still this little town has its very own charme. I feel like some of the pictures look like paintings, almost surreal! Everything about this picturesque town is so photogenic and like medicine for your eyes: the crystal blue water, the colorful flowers everywhere, all the little boats and the beautiful houses.

I am wearing a checked oversized dress by Sister Jane here – a brand I discovered by coincidence at Asos. The label is just totally my style with all its beautiful 60s style dresses. Apart from the dress I am wearing in this post here I linked you also some other beautiful ones below. I just love wearing loose dresses like that right now, and I am especially in love with these cute puff sleeves, and of course the subtle light-blue of the dress. To that I am wearing my comfy white flats which I am literally wearing 24/7 here in Italy – comfy shoes are just essential for exploring cities.

How do you like the dress? Have you ever been to Bellagio?

I didn’t have a clear picture in mind before visiting Lucca – all I knew was that it should look pretty nice…but when we arrived in our hotel in the late evening and did a little stroll through the city to get some food I immediately knew which outfit will match perfectly to this pretty old town.

Lucca is like travelling back in time. It’s like the old city walls lock out the presence. And after seeing so many beautiful places here in Italy Lucca is one of my favorite ones (besides Florence). But who is surprised by this? I admire the older times – also when it comes to fashion. So the city was perfect to wear this lovely 60s dress with black bow-tie.

I found it at the Sale section at Zara right before my holidays, and with the dress I also bought these wonderful heeled ballet pumps in beige – both just suit so perfectly together since they look a little old-school. You can also call these ballet pumps „granny shoes“, since they are definitely something my grandmothers would have worn. To wear something vintage/old-fashioned is always a good idea if you ask me.The world is modern enough, haha.

Now it means to say goodbye to Italy. I am gonna carry this sunny place within my heart back home, and I am coming back with lots of Italian spirit (more about that in another post), new inspiration and of course tons of pictures. So many Italian posts are waiting for you in August!
