Fiat Chrysler (FCA) denied that no longer sell Chrysler brand in Japan. Prior to the local media reports, FCA sales in Japan for many years poor performance, plans to stop in the next year in the next day sales.
"FCA, although it has Turbocharger been announced after the intention to focus resources on the Jeep brand, but did not make any decision on the Chrysler brand," FCA said on June 19.
Prior to the "Nikkei Business Daily" reported that FCA decided to give up the Chrysler brand in Japan. In addition to the Chrysler brand, FCA also sells Jeep, Fiat, Alfa Romeo and Abate brands in Japan. Chrysler brand since 2000 sales began to gradually decline in 2016 in Japan sold less than 300, the current sales is one ten years ago.
FCA only sells a Chrysler model in Japan, for full-size Chrysler 300s sedan, sold at FCA's Jeep Dealer. FCA Fiat brand has a smaller model, Jeep brand sales in Japan has also been growing. Last year, Fiat brand sales of about 6,700, Jeep brand 9400, which makes them in Japan's foreign brand car sales in the top 10.
However, the Japanese auto market dominated by Japanese brands, foreign cars accounted for only a small part of them. Last year, 295,000 foreign brands sold in Japan, about one-tenth of the total sales of new cars in Japan.
