Features of Titanium piping

The following information is provided as background on how titanium, alloy properties, strength, and titanium pipe considerations may be crucial to corrosion protection in an application.

Advantages of titanium piping life cycle

Salts, acids, and other corrosive severe chemicals cause severe damage to materials less than titanium. These corrosive substances can cause the equipment to degrade rapidly and cause failures. This will require equipment repairs or unit replacements, resulting in expense and a significant stoppage of the process. Hastelloy C276 Round Bar is also widely used.

Initial purchase costs are higher than other materials (graphite, ceramic, PTFE, or glass), but Titanium Pipe is very cost-effective over the life cycle of the equipment.

Titanium pipe is:

  • Provides years of economic life
  • Eliminate expensive production interruptions due to equipment failures
  • Provides excellent corrosion resistance
  • Achieves high heat transfer efficiency
  • Supports high vapor pressure
  • Fully welded metal construction eliminates potential process fluid leaks

Titanium

Titanium is one of several metals in the category of reactive metals or corrosion resistant alloys (CRAs). The excellent materials in this group can reduce or oxidize the environment, with or without chloride, to temperatures up to 1200ºF. CRA is highly resilient to pitting, crevices, and stress corrosion, as well as highly resistant to uniform corrosion attack. Hastelloy C276 Tube is also used by many consumers.

Titanium Plate is often the material of choice for construction of process equipment in chemical, petrochemical, oil and gas, and other industrial production environments. In these processes, aggressive fluids often contact the surface of the equipment at very high temperatures to test the strength and corrosion resistance of materials.

Titanium, the flagship product of reactive metals, is readily available and is used more frequently in corrosion-resistant manufacturing than when combined with all other reactive metals.

Titanium piping design

A Titanium seamless tube is one of the most manufactured products. Many different types of plumbing systems are manufactured for use in multiple chemical process applications.
The design and accessories of titanium pipe are as follows.

  • Sturdy wall
  • Large diameter
  • Explosive cladding
  • Personal straight
  • Elbow or tee fitting
  • Flange and gasket
  • Spooled section
  • ID polishing
  • Heat transfer jacket
  • Double containment design

Manufacturing capacity includes a maximum diameter of 120 inches, a width of 300 inches, and a maximum weight of 200 tons.
When you will search, you will know that these pipes more massive than 8 inches in diameter are typically supplied as rolling and welding cylinders that meet the requirements of ASME Code Section 8, Division I.
It manufactures pressure equipment according to all major international design standards and pressure vessel codes.

Titanium corrosion resistance

Titanium plumbing systems are often specified for highly corrosive industrial applications and are usually set in processes where chloride is a constituent.
Titanium Round Bar are well suited for service applications such as:

  • Alkaline media
  • Inorganic salt solution
  • Organic chemicals
  • Organic acid
  • oxygen
  • hydrogen
  • Sulfur dioxide
  • Hydrogen sulphide
  • Liquid Metal Chlorine Chemical
  • hydrochloric acid
  • phosphoric acid
  • Seawater
  • Sulphuric acid
  • nitric acid
  • Anodizing and oxidation treatment
