Get The Look: Shirt Dress X Statement Bag

Submitted by sunshineke on Fri, 10/21/2016 - 23:08

According to a boring bastard called ‘The Calendar’ who marks time and seasons for us sartorial mortals, the end of summer is here, which means layering season is upon us. After a few months spent in bikinis and birthday suits I guess it’s time we kissed all of that shit goodbye and got back to long sleeves, shirts, and jackets…

But you see, it ain’t always like ‘The Calendar’ preaches. Here I am listening to this asshole, wearing long sleeves (cause it’s September) only to witness myself melt away. Bit by bit. TBH I should do anything but bitch since I’m a summer lover through and through, but you know me… gotta speak my mind.

In fact, except for the melting away thing, which would have happened anyway regardless of any outfit as tiny as a handkerchief even, I LOVED the printed colour-block shirt dress outfit I’m wearing in this post, and the bold red bag. It may be autumn alright but who says colours are a thang of the past?

Why I love the shirt dress? Because it’s a timeless piece, and although you can totally throw it on in late summer as a dress, you can also wear it in colder seasons as a dress with thigh-high boots for example, or as a long shirt with a pair of skinnies on. The colour block print is fabulous. I rarely drape myself in other clothes than black, but this I loved.

It’s made of chiffon so it’s airy and flowy, and the best part is it’s got side pockets, which makes it seems so so effortless.
