How to play powerball

Playing Powerball is simple. Here's how you can participate:

Purchase a ticket: You can buy a Powerball ticket from a licensed lottery retailer in one of the participating states (44 states plus Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands).

Choose your numbers: On the Powerball ticket, you will see two sections, one for five white balls and one for one red ball (the Powerball). You can choose your numbers manually or opt for a quick pick, where the numbers will be randomly generated for you.

Select the draw date: Decide whether you want to play for the upcoming draw or future draws by marking the appropriate option on your ticket.

Pay for your ticket: The cost of a Powerball ticket is $2.

Check the winning numbers: The winning Powerball numbers are drawn on Wednesday and Saturday evenings at 10:59 PM Eastern Time. The winning numbers are usually available on the Powerball website or from local news sources shortly after the drawing.

Claim your prize: If you win, you can claim your prize by visiting a licensed lottery retailer or a state lottery office. The amount of time you have to claim your prize varies by state, but it is typically between 90 days to one year.

Remember, playing the lottery is a form of gambling and you should only play responsibly.
