On the whole, gutter cleaning is a pretty easy job. It doesn't take a whole debouchage lot of skill to get started. However, as you learn how to do a better job cleaning out gutters, you can also do them more safely and help yourself up by as much as 300%. Learning how to unclog a gutter, is one of the basic and most essential things that you will know as you are getting paid to clean out gutters. If you are not good at unclogging them, people will not call you and will call other gutter cleaning services. To do a good job, make sure that every downspout is unclogged, and that you have tested them before leaving the jobsite.

Most of the time, you have a fairly easy time unclogging the downspout. This is because a lot of times, the downspouts are only blocked on the top and not really clogged. The way that you fix this problem is by simply cleaning out the gutter, and cleaning out the portion that is directly over the downspout. When you do, the downspout will start to flow properly and it will get rid of all the extra water that is in the area that you are trying to clean out. Please make sure that as the water goes down, be careful that you do not allow additional debris to go down and clog up the gutters. Mostly, you don't want this to happen, because it is just going to waste your time and you're going to have to unclog them again. It is much easier to just plan ahead and bring a bucket up with you, so that when you unclog the downspout, you will have some place to dump all the extra debris.

There are also two other ways in gutter cleaning and unclogging downspouts. One way is to do it with a gutter snake. It basically does the same thing as a toilet snake, only it is ¼ inch in diameter rather than ½ inch. You can slide it down through the downspout curves and remove any blockage. The next thing that you can do is to take the gutter downspout apart. Make sure that you pay attention to how it was put in and take it apart in the same way. Then you just turn the downspout on inside, and you can put water from the bottom and watch it come out the top, bringing the clog out with it. This is really quite easy and fun to do.
