Voice acting is bad across the board, character animations are rigid in cutscenes, and as things begin to get interesting it more or less ends and frees you in merry-go-round of scripted moments during your career. The new mode, The Yard, tries to become an arcade-style pick-up-and-play experience, but is so watered down it fails to provide.

The fact of Madden is that if you're craving an NFL football experience then you don't really have any other choices. Buying the game on Stadia could show EA there's interest in more of their sports titles coming to the platform, which is a general great thing, it's just too bad Madden could not have a better entry to serve as its introduction.

Now let us dive into the differences on Stadia.

Providentially, the Stadia version of Madden NFL 21 plays great and looks fantastic. As is the standard now with the Stadia edition of AAA games, it performs superbly and does not have any noticeable issues with lag or latency if your link is great enough. Anytime you play Madden online kicking does suffer with minor latency issues, but that's true across all variations of this game -- not only Stadia. This season it's worse than normal so you ought to absolutely expect to miss a few field goals and extra points. They must have changed the net code for how kicking is handled or something because even on PS4 and PS5 I had been having problems hitting kicks just straight and these problems persist at the Stadia version.
