It seems that Capcom has no power to “leave” Resident Evil 4 just like that despite its decades of age. Released for the first time on GameCube and re-released for multiple platforms in various formats, Resident Evil 4 is now confirmed to be heading for a virtual reality space under the banner of Oculus Studios. After briefly showing the gameplay in the Resident Evil Village showcase some time ago, details related to this project finally came from Oculus himself. This project is certainly not only ambitious to capture the original sensation.

In the latest Oculus Quest 2 showcase, details regarding Resident Evil VR finally surfaced. Some interesting details slide, including the decision to present your various items and equipment as objects that can be held and manipulated. This fact makes Leon himself able to hold existing weapons just like that without having to go through the menu items, making him now able to use different weapons in each hand, aka dual-wield. Resident Evil 4 VR will also provide the option to move using analog or use the teleport system.

Resident Evil 4 VR itself is planned to be released for Oculus Quest 2 in 2021 too, without a definite release date.
