I’ve always loved the thought of wearing a long prom dress as junior, and then a short prom dress to signify seniority. But, recently some members of the Class of 2024 have made the decision to make the switch from short, “cocktail” dresses to longer gowns for prom this year.

Short prom dresses have primarily been wearing for many years now since around 2007, and last year was no exception, as seen on the red carpet.
There has been some talk around the school for a few years about switching back to an all long dress prom attire, but no action has been taken until this year.

A poll: What your thought on the switch? Do you want to wear long dresses or short dresses for prom 2024?

It seems that seniors prefer to wear long prom dresses 2024, but year by year ago, the length of the senior prom dresses started to go short.
Of course I understand the desire to wear long dresses to prom, for they can wear short length dresses to other school events, like homecoming.

Personally, if you're going to wear your dreaming long prom dress for your Junior prom party, you can splurge on the dress agian if you're tight budget.
It is a much bigger financial burden than only going all out once.

Some of schools around the Notth Suburban Conference have their tradition that wear long prom dresses for both of their upperclassmen years to prom.

Conclusion:
Anyone can wear whatever they want to prom if allowed by rules. You can stick the the tradition, or it's possible to make a change. But there just isn't a necessary changes that need to be made.
For maybe next few years will be a toss-up, only time tell what the "standard" will be in the future.
