Birla Institute of Technology Mesra ( BITS Mesra) is a deemed university founded by B. M. Birla, a prominent member of the Birla family. The institute has, since its inception, produced many talented individuals. Likewise, some of them are Madhavan Chandranathan, Hemant Soren, and Arup Chaudhury, among many others. Presently, with an intake capacity of 844 students per year, the institute has established itself as a premier college in engineering. Though the college is present in Jharkhand, it is not limited in offerings to one state. In other words, the institute offers off-campus degrees in cities like Noida, Deogarh, Kolkata and Muscat, and Ras al-Khaimah.
