Starting a new event league always changes how players think about POE 2 Items. Do not feel obligated to force every Ritual chain, though. If the bosses are taking too long or repeatedly killing your character, continue progressing and return to the mechanic when your build has improved.
Use Trial of Chaos for Practical Leveling
Trial of Chaos has also been redesigned in Patch 0.5.5, with the activity placing much more emphasis on enemy combat.
Trials can now extend to 30 rooms, and the larger arenas make it easier to deal with groups of enemies. More importantly for event players, you can pause and leave between rooms and resume the run later.
This flexibility makes Trial of Chaos easier to fit into a normal progression schedule. It can provide experience while the added item rarity from modifiers gives you more opportunities to find useful equipment and currency.
As with Wildwood content, efficiency matters more than maximum difficulty. A smooth run with few deaths is usually preferable to a difficult run that repeatedly forces you to restart.
Save Stronger Juicing for Maps
Sacred Blooms become useful once you establish your Atlas. They can appear in Ritual reward windows and can be applied to maps to open the Viridian Wildwood.
Inside the Wildwood, players can gather Primal, Vivid, and Wild Azmerian Wisps. These Wisps empower map monsters and can increase the rewards available from high-density encounters.
There is a natural progression here. Start with safer mapping while your character is still developing. Once your equipment and defenses improve, introduce more Wildwood investment and stronger monster modifiers.
This approach prevents the common mistake of making maps harder before the character is actually ready to benefit from the additional rewards.
Complete Ascendancy Progress Along the Way
The Ascendant challenge requires all eight Ascendancy points, so it should not be treated as a separate endgame project. Complete the necessary trials as they become available and make the points part of your normal character development.
Doing this has another advantage: Ascendancy upgrades can directly strengthen your build, making later challenges easier. Instead of delaying the requirement, use it as an opportunity to improve your character while simultaneously progressing toward completion.
Build a Repeatable Endgame Routine
Once you reach maps, the event becomes less about individual objectives and more about maintaining a reliable routine. Run content your build clears comfortably, improve equipment gradually, and increase difficulty only when your character can handle it.
Keep the level 90 target in mind, since unnecessary deaths become increasingly expensive as you approach the final levels. Efficient progression is not just about killing monsters quickly; it is also about avoiding setbacks that erase your experience gains.
The same principle applies to currency and equipment. Good drops should improve your character or help fund future upgrades rather than encouraging you to spend all your resources on temporary improvements.
