Sever's Disease
Also known as calcaneal apophysitis, this is the most common cause of heel pain in athletic children, between the ages of 7 and 15. The treatment is simple. Regular stretching during the off-season and doing flexibility workouts on a regular basis, as well as wearing shoes that fit well and have shock absorbent soles.

Plantar Fasciitis
Sometimes referred to as "Dancer's Heel", this is the most common cause of pains located underneath, towards the back of the foot, behind the arch. It occurs frequently in runners and other athletes. But, it is also seen sedentary people that are overweight or obese.
