When asked on Twitter if there would be more World of Warcraft films WoTLK Gold, Jones replied, "Not up to me, my friend. I'd love to see it happen however I am not certain."
Jones has been discussing potential sequel ideas, and Jones has talked about sequels, and indeed the World of Warcraft universe is enormous and appears to be prime for stories to tell. But , just like the 40-minute longer version, the likelihood that Jones will make another film will be determined by its success in the first film.
An anonymous source speaking with The Hollywood Reporter recently said there is a plan in motion for a sequel, however the source acknowledged that it will require an enlargement of the budget in order to be successful.
Of the $430 million World of Warcraft has earned all over the world, an astounding 90 percent came from outside the United States. The movie grossed nearly $221 million--more than half of the total gross--in China in the first instance, and the US came up with just $46.6 million.
" World of Warcraft is an odd box-office hit and unlike anything that the industry has witnessed," analyst Jeff Bock said recently. "If China didn't end up exceeding its budget it would be an absolute disaster. Today, it's a light concussion."
With a budget reported at $160 million, those cheap WoTLK Gold who are connected to the film expect it to lose about $15 million. It is in contrast to earlier reports that it could make its money back on the popularity that the Chinese market.
