About Duplex Steel

Austenite and Ferrite, two distinct grain phases, are found in the microstructure of duplex steel, a form of stainless steel. Due to the fact that the Austenite and Ferrite phases have different atomic structures and physical characteristics, and since Duplex Steel has around 50% of each phase, it may benefit from the features of both material types.

These properties include:

Significance of Duplex Steel S31803 Plates

Duplex Steel 2205 Plate is a popular duplex stainless steel alloy. It has an equivalent austenite to ferrite microstructure. ASTM A240 UNS S31803 Plate has a strong mix of mechanical stability, ductility, and corrosion resistance. The PREN values are greater than 34, indicating that the pitting resistance is lower than that of super duplex grades but higher than that of the majority of other steel types. UNS S32205 Coil is also resistant to corrosion and fracture. At both ambient and sub-zero temperatures, 10mm Duplex Steel S31803 Plate exhibits good notch flexibility.
