Gynecomastia Surgery
The surgeon will create an incision at the border of the areolas after you have fallen asleep (the colored area around the nipples). Extra breast tissue (and sometimes skin) is removed from the areolas. The surgeon will also make an incision under each breast to remove the excess skin in some severe cases of gynecomastia surgery. The areolas will be reattached, and the wounds will be stitched closed. Your body will absorb (dissolve) the stitches in 2 to 4 weeks, so they won't need to be removed. Over your stitches, you can use steri-strips or surgical glue.
