Is it possible to do a minor change in a logo in the trademark applied just 2 days before?

The general rule is that once the Trademark is applied you cannot alter it afterwards.

However, there is one form “Application/Request for miscellaneous functions in respect of a trademark Application/ Opposition/Rectification under the Trade Marks” called as TM M under which one can make an application for some minor changes like addition of a single letter which got missed at the time of making an Application.

The changes are possible in the tag line included in the logo or in the Word mark, but the design or colour of the logo cannot be changed as it is called as substantial change. For such substantial changes, new trademark registration application is made.

The Government fees for the Form TM-M is Rs. 900/-. Once TM-M is filed, it will get processed by the TM Registry. It is complete discretion of the TM Registry whether to approve the changes or not.

Registry will update the status after some time through which one can check whether the application for change is accepted by it or not.
