Let the milk cool slightly, then add the curd and mix well.

Cover and keep in a warm place for 12–24 hours for the milk to ferment and turn into curd.

Churn the curd using a traditional wooden churner or a hand blender until butter separates.

Collect the butter and heat it in a low flame to separate ghee from buttermilk.

Once the ghee becomes clear and aromatic, filter it into a clean jar.

Let it cool, then store in an airtight container.
